Eugeny Khaldey (1917-1997)
Yevgeny Khaldei was born in Yuzovka (now Donezk). His first photograph had done by home-made camera. He started to work as a photographer at his 18 years and published in the Ukrainian newspapers. Later his photos had printed in Moscow for the first time.
The glory found him as a photographer of the Second World War. His photos were chronicle of events, real documents and symbols of war.
He liberated the Sebastopol, Romania, Bulgaria, Yugoslavia, Austria and Hungary. His war pictures published in many books and encyclopedias about the war, from the photo of Muscovites listening to government’s report about 22 June, 1941 to the picture of the parade of the victory, the photo of Potsdam conference, Nuremberg process.
